Clean Sweep: CIA Property and Event Services Acquires Cleaning Institute of Australia

Another Successful Deal for Oasis Partners!

Australia’s M&A market is proving resilient. Despite geopolitical headwinds and interest rate uncertainty, strategic buyers aren’t standing still — and that’s as true in the mid-market as it is at the top end of town. This transaction is a case in point.

Oasis Partners is pleased to announce the acquisition of CIA Services Group by CIA Property and Event Services.

CIA Services Group is a Melbourne-based business with nearly 20 years of experience delivering commercial cleaning, event cleaning, property maintenance, and renovations across healthcare, hospitality, owner’s corporations, and major events including the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. The acquisition brings together two complementary operators in a sector that has moved well beyond “cost line” status.

Australia’s commercial cleaning industry now generates over $20 billion in annual revenue, spans more than 44,000 businesses, and employs upwards of 209,000 people. More significantly, the way clients think about cleaning has fundamentally shifted. Productivity, workplace wellbeing, and brand reputation are all on the line — and outsourced service providers who can deliver consistently at scale are increasingly valued partners, not interchangeable vendors.

There’s another dimension to buyer interest in sectors like this one. In a deal environment increasingly shaped by AI anxiety, commercial cleaning stands out for a simple reason: no algorithm is going to mop a floor. Hands-on property services — cleaning, maintenance, event preparation — are among the least exposed sectors to AI displacement. Acquirers who are thinking carefully about where to deploy capital are paying close attention to businesses built around physical service delivery, skilled labour, and on-site relationships. CIA Services Group ticks all of those boxes.

That combination — a structurally growing sector, a shifting client mindset, and genuine AI resilience — is what makes acquisitions like this strategically compelling. CIA Property and Event Services isn’t just adding revenue. It’s adding depth, capability, and a track record across some of Australia’s most demanding cleaning environments.

Congratulations to both teams on reaching this milestone.

Thinking about acquiring in sectors with genuine AI resilience and structural tailwinds? We’d be interested in the conversation.
